The new kit for this season arrived last week just in time to be packed up ready for the season in Andorra.
The kit is as follows: Drake Descent 157, Drake Fifty Bindings and a pair of Northwave Zero classic lace boots.
Drake Descent 157
For this season I wanted something with regular / traditional chamber and a mid – stiff flex. I’ve been playing around with various other chamber styles over the past year or so and the fact I’m going back to regular chamber speaks for itself.
Again, this is just my personal preference, but I found all the other boards I tried didn’t give me back the feedback I was after. I want a board that feels alive, snappy and versatile for the whole mountain, not something that is unresponsive and only at home in one environment. And this is what I found when trying the majority of flat / cam rock style boards, especially anything with a version of v rocker, even it only slightly.
So here’s to regular chambered boards!
Same construction of the Regent with its pre-detuned edge on tip and tail, but with a classic camber that gives you the necessary stability and handling at high speeds. Full control and amazing reactivity make this all mountain board perfect for mad and desperate riders not scared of dangerous and steep slopes. The secret of this board is great performance at a great price.
Northwave Zero Boots:
I went for the classic lace boots as I found in the past that speed lacing systems just bring up too many pressure points. I went down half a size on last year so I keep the nice snug fit all season long. The heel grip (540°) on these boots is immense, there’s no way my heel is moving – even more so since I fitted my custom footbeds courtesy of alphaclinic

A mid range flex and all round binding to compliment the boot and board set up.
